Counselling for children and families

Counselling can be highly beneficial for children and can help them in many ways. Children often face a variety of challenges, such as difficulties with school, bullying, divorce, grief, or other life changes that can be difficult for them to navigate. Counselling can provide a safe and supportive environment for children to discuss their thoughts and feelings and work through any challenges they may be facing.

I offer therapy through play.

Family support and counselling

Headnasium offers Family Support Services providing families with children aged between 5 and 19 years by allocating an experienced, non-judgemental support worker under the supervision of a trained counsellor. The level of care can be anything from general support in coping with daily life, communication, conflict and school support. We also offer bespoke parenting programmes and one-to-one mentoring, support and counselling. The service aims to support children, young people and their families to lead safer, happier and healthier lives.

Benefits of counselling for children

Improved mental health

Counselling can help children manage their emotions and develop coping skills for dealing with difficult experiences. This can lead to improved mental health and reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Better behaviour

Children who receive counselling may exhibit improved behaviour, as they are better able to understand and manage their emotions. This can lead to better relationships with peers and adults.

Increased self-esteem

By working with a counsellor, children can gain a better understanding of their own worth and develop a more positive self-image. This can increase their confidence and overall sense of well-being.

Improved communication skills

Children can learn effective communication skills and develop the ability to express their thoughts and feelings more effectively, which can lead to improved relationships and better conflict-resolution skills.

Better academic performance

Children who receive counselling may show improved academic performance, as they are better able to manage stress and other factors that may affect their ability to concentrate and learn.

Counselling can be a valuable tool for children and can provide them with the support and resources they need to thrive and grow. If you believe your child could benefit from counselling, it’s important to reach out to a trained and experienced counsellor to discuss your options.
